At University I learned it was possible to develop film using instant coffee. Recently I decided to give it another try using a role of Kodak 800 Speed 35mm color negative film and my Canon AE1. The developing chemical is a mixture of instant coffee, and vitamin C powder. I developed the film for approximately 20 minutes. I was surprised how well the developed film turned out. The white spots on the film occurred when the film was touching itself during the development process. The developing chemical needs to be able to reach all areas of the exposed film at the same time. I did not yet have a developing tank that properly separated the film on a reel, and thus was forced to use Tupperware.
